The Voice 2013: Why Season 4’s Vedo Has the Potential to Be a Breakout Star
Though The Voice has already had three successful seasons in the ratings race, the reality competition show has yet to produce a breakout hit. We’re still holding out hope for Season 3 winner Cassadee Pope who is currently working on her debut solo album, but our new focus centers on Season 4’s Vedo.
Vedo’s tragic tale of caring for his mother with Stage IV cancer really tugged at our heartstrings, but it was his impressive performance of Justin Bieber’s “Boyfriend” during the blind auditions that encouraged us to dig a little deeper.
It turns out that Vedo’s already been recording music and YouTube videos. His impressive single “Traffic Jam” (see below) reminds us of his coach, Usher, and his talented covers basically make up our own personal Pandora stations on a daily basis.
Not only is this contestant a singer-songwriter with impressive drive and immense talent, but he’s already releasing his own music. The 20-year-old has plans to release a free mixtape album titled Addiction with original songs like “I Wanna Be.”
If that’s the kind of sound, style, and beat we can expect from this artist, then we’re on Team Vedo. The passion and conviction that ring genuinely from each note he sings are indicative of an artist with heaps of potential, possibly making him the first breakout star from The Voice.
