The Voice’s Amanda Brown: The Second Week Blind Auditions Underwhelmed Me
The Voice becomes a home for contestants fortunate enough to advance in the competition, like Season 3 Top 6 contestant Amanda Brown, who is still very connected to the show and it’s new set of hopefuls.
She’s so invested that she currently writes a weekly blog for our friends at Parade Magazine, which details her reactions to the blind auditions.
This week she was especially proud of returning artist Garrett Gardner, but underwhelmed by many of the contestants. Here's what she had to say:
Yay!! I’m so happy to see Garrett Gardner back on the show with his soulful rendition of The White Stripes’ “Seven Nation Army.” I remember he auditioned last season and didn’t make it onto the show. I don’t know if I could have done the same. As nerve wracking as it is, getting up on that stage, with four chairs to your back … the thought of doing it all again can be terrifying for a lot of folks. Congratulations to you, Garrett, for your persistence and passion, I’ll be rooting for you.
I can’t say I was blown away with this past Monday and Tuesday’s episodes (But what do I know anyway? After all, these words are merely my opinions!), however, there were definitely a few contestants that left an impression on me.
