While for the majority of the episode had us convinced that Bailey’s intern, Murphy, was to blame, in the final minutes, Meredith reveals that Miranda was the only one who operated on all three infected patients. Because of that, Bailey wasn’t even allowed to tell the patient’s husband about her untimely death, and she was left distraught with Chief Hunt & Co. in a conference room.
Since Bailey has done so many amazing things for the hospital throughout nine years on Grey’s Anatomy, we hope that she’s not going anywhere soon. However, this could lead to a long, exhausting road of court dates (if someone sues her), press conferences (which Derek suggested so the info isn’t leaked), and ultimately, being jobless.
For now, Grey’s is on hiatus for three weeks — with the season ending on May 16, they can't abandon us for too long — so Bailey’s fate won’t be sealed for at least a few weeks. Until then, we’ll be holding our breath and hoping for the best, though honestly? If she quits, we might have to quit the show. Jussayin’.
Do you think Bailey will get the boot, or will this all solve itself when the show returns? Sound off below.
Grey’s Anatomy returns Thursday, April 25 at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.
