Grey's Anatomy

Patrick Dempsey on Grey’s Anatomy: “People Keep Watching, We’ll Keep Doing”

How long will Grey's Anatomy last? It's a question every fan has pondered, and Patrick Dempsey's (Derek Shepherd) answer on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night (April 4) should make fans happy.

During the interview — which also covered Patrick's purchase of a coffee chain and his love of car and bicycle racing — Jimmy commented that Grey's is, incredibly, still a hit even after nine seasons.

"It's amazing," Patrick agreed. "It's remarkable. I'm blessed to have this. It's great."

Then Jimmy asked the question on everyone's mind: "How many more seasons do you think you have in you?"

"Well, we have one more left on our contract, and then we'll see what happens," Patrick hedged. But then he added this little remark: "People keep watching, we'll keep doing."

Does that mean Patrick would be willing to stay on past Season 10? We sure hope so! If the series does last to a Season 11, we want McDreamy, Meredith, and the entire original cast to stick around. It wouldn't be the same without them.

For more from Patrick, check out the video below. You do not want to miss the inexplicable Mexican commercial from Patrick's past that Jimmy Kimmel managed to get his hands on.

If you want to know more about Patrick's purchase of Tully's coffee, check out Part 1 of the interview. And for all the deets on his racing, Part 2 is where you want to go.
