Vanderpump Rules Cast Says Fame Makes It Hard to Work — Exclusive!

Fame isn’t all that it’s cut out to be, as the Vanderpump Rules cast has discovered since the inaugural season of the hit reality series went off the air in February.

Wetpaint Entertainment chatted with the stunning waitstaff of SUR as they attended the Bravo Upfronts, and they gave us an exclusive inside scoop on what it’s been like with fans descending upon the busy restaurant day after day.

“It’s really gotten to the point where you can’t work anymore,” Jax Taylor told us, admitting that he only works one day week now. “It’s just gotten too hard. People come in and start filming us with their phones and that’s all they want to do. So we’ve all had to cut down our hours.”

Jax pointed out there’s a potential dark side to all of the attention as well.

“Besides being distracting, it’s a security issue — especially for the girls,” he explained. “Some guy can come in and do whatever they want, follow them home, whatever. So we’ve all had to cut back.”

Kristen Doute also chimed in, saying despite all of the distraction everyone is still focused on continuing to make SUR a world-class dining destination.

“It’s extremely flattering and it’s great for business that people want to come in and see us and take photos, but at the end of the day, we’re trying to do a job,” she said.
