Today, April 5, Kellie Pickler appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show to make a very special announcement about her upcoming April 8 performance with partner Derek Hough. The dynamic duo will tackle the Rumba to “Say I Do,” a song that Kellie’s husband, Kyle Jacobs, wrote for their 2011 wedding. The tears! All of the tears!
And if that’s not enough, it won’t be the DWTS band butchering the song — Kyle will take the ballroom stage to perform it himself, which will be incredibly emotional, and could throw off Kellie’s game if she isn’t careful.
“It’s going to be an 100 percent emotional moment, and I’m just hoping I can keep it together,” Kyle admits (via Country Weekly). “Kellie’s doing so well on the show, and she’s having so much fun. The fact that she’s dancing to this song, our song, means so very much to both of us. It honors the love that we have so much.”
Even though this song is so personal to them, she isn’t worried about sharing it with the world. And on that note, her husband doesn’t worry about her sharing getting so close to her partner, Derek. Why? Kellie explained in a super aww-worthy way: “My husband knows that he’s always gonna get the last dance.”
