Pretty Little Liars Spoilers: Surprising Character Interactions in Season 4
Though Pretty Little Liarshas the Liars as its focus, it has a huge cast of characters with which to play. PLL writer Maya Goldsmith says we will be seeing these characters interact in new and interesting ways in Season 4:
“One of the great things about season 4 is the scenes between characters that have never had scenes together before,” Maya tweeted yesterday.
Which unconventional character pairings will be getting scene-age? Well, the question Maya was responding to referenced this friendship scene between Spencer and Caleb as something they would like to see more of. They don’t fall into the category of “characters that have never had scenes together before” but maybe we’ll be seeing more of these two interacting in Season 4?
This got us thinking about which character pairings we haven’t seen that would make sense in some way. We know that Mike Montgomery (Cody Allen Christian) will be back in Season 4 after a season-long disappearance. Could we see him interacting with one of the Liars besides Aria? In the books, he dated Hanna. This doesn’t make much sense in the show, but Mona is available. How weird/twisted would that be?
Have we ever seen a real Toby/Caleb scene? We don’t think so. They’ve been in the same scenes together in the past, but never had a real conversation. It would be interesting to see how these two interact. On the one hand, they might have a lot to talk about - both are trying to protect the people they love and know the truth of “A” and they both had difficult childhoods. How amazing would a Toby/Caleb bromance be? On the other hand, we could see Caleb being not as understanding about Toby’s Team “A” double agent plan as Spencer seemingly was, especially if Toby was involved in Plan Church Bell Sabotage.
