American Idol 2013 Spoilers: Top 6 Song Choices Revealed!

However they’ve managed it, the powers that be at American Idol have prevented many song choice spoilers for season 12. A few people spilled the beans this week, however, and if the rumors from MJs Big Blog (via The Idol Pad and @belindasLAmusic) are true, we know almost everything the Top Six will be singing this week.

Here is what they’ve uncovered so far:

Lazaro Arbos: “Close To You” Bacharach/David originally sung by The Carpenters and “Angels” by Robbie Williams A Song I Wish I Had Written.

That second one might not be too bad for Laz, but that first one has absolute disaster written all over it. We’re also bitter, as we had chosen that song for Angie. Sniff.

Kree Harrison: TBD She seems to be the only one we know nothing about this week, and that’s okay. We’re good with a surprise when it comes to “Kreedom,” as we just know both performances are going to be amazing.

Janelle Arthur: “I’ll Never Fall In Love Again” by Burt Bacharach and “The Dance” by Garth Brooks.

We have to say, we think this will be an amazing week for Janelle with both of these choices, and she needs it, as she’s been on the bubble a few times already.

Candice Glover: According to MJ Santilli of MJs Big Blog, Candice tweeted a song hint yesterday that read, “I have covered this artist twice on my YouTube channel, however the song I’m singing is not originally theirs. The song is originally by a Band of the early 80s, but was done by this current artist.”

MJ says that the speculation for her “Song I’d Wish I’d Written” is that it will be The Cure’s “Love Song” as performed by Adele. This would be a super duper smart choice for her, as we think the reason she didn’t end up in any of the judges’ top three is that she’s not as relevant an artist as some of the others.

The other song for Candice is said to be “Don’t Make Me Over” by Burt Bacharach/Dionne Warwick. This will be simply amazing. ‘Nuff said.

Amber Holcomb: “I Say A Little Prayer” by Burt Bacharach/Dionne Warwick and “Love On Top” by Beyonce

We love that she’s going the contemporary route for the second song, and she’ll knock it out of the park with both of these. Then again, we always think she’s superb. America just needs to get on board with those votes!

Angie Miller: “Anyone Who Had A Heart” by Burt Bacharach/Dionne Warwick and “Love Came Down” by Kari Jobe

If these choices are correct for Angie, she could easily win the night. The Kari Jobe song will most likely be done in her sweet spot–at the piano. It’s the Dionne Warwick number, however, that could be reminiscent of her moment during Hollywood Week with her original song, “You Set Me Free”.

In looking at these song choices, this week could end up being killer. We are going to have our work cut out for us come voting time!
