Kim Kardashian Divorce: Her Witness List Uncovered!
Kim Kardashian’s big divorce trial kicks off on May 6, where the reality star — who will be seven months pregnant with Kanye West’s baby by that time — will seek to prove that she did not defraud Kris Humphries into marrying her. Now, Wetpaint Entertainment has obtained court documents that reveal whom Kim has selected to testify on her behalf.
The couple wed in August 2011, and Kim filed for divorce just 72 days later. Kris refused to sign the divorce papers, instead asking for an annulment, claiming that Kim never loved him and publicly defrauded him into marriage.
When the trial begins in May, Kim must prove that she truly did love Kris at the time of their engagement and wedding, and that the whole thing was in no way just a publicity stunt. Below are court documents filed by Kim’s lawyer, Laura Wasser, which detail exactly who she’s asking to testify.
Number one on Kim’s list is — herself! The documents state Kim’s intention to call “Kimberly Kardashian” to the stand, with the expectation that Kim’s testimony will illustrate how “she did not defraud [Kris] into marrying her.”
Up next on the list is Kris Humphries himself. Kim’s hoping her that Kris’s testimony will give “reasons why the parties’ marriage should be dissolved and not annulled.” Of course, Kris wouldn’t intentionally help his wife’s case, but her lawyers can still certainly try to use his testimony in Kim’s favor.
Other witnesses include a number of different people who can testify on the couple's finances, as well as their prenuptial agreement. Kim is also calling Farnaz Farjam to the stand: a close friend who is also one of the show’s producers. Momager Kris Jenner is also listed as being able to provide testimony that Kim didn’t defraud Kris, and that she truly loved him at the time of their marriage.
