Pretty Little Liars Season 4: Possible Storylines for Mike Montgomery’s Return

Mike Montgomery (Cody Allen Christian), you are a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma. Aria’s little brother was M.I.A. for Season 3 of Pretty Little Liars, but, hopefully, we’ll learn more about his character when Mike returns to Rosewood in Season 4. What might his storyline look like? Here are five guesses:

Jason’s Minion

In Season 2, Episode 4: “Blind Dates,” Jason catches Mike trying to break into his house. Instead of turning him into the police, Jason brings Mike home. We don’t see these two characters interact after this, but that doesn’t mean they don’t. What if these two are somehow working together? (“C” Team, anyone?) Mike inadvertently stumbled upon evidence when burglarizing Garrett’s house. What if he found more and was pulled into the “A” mess? Basically, we just want Jason to not be dead, and if we have to use Mike to make that happen, we’re all for it. Alternatively, if Jason is dead and these two were working together, Mike could have answers that the Liars are looking for.

We know that Mike will be returning in Season 4, Episode 5: “Omega Sigma Die.” We have theorized that this episode might explore the incident that got Cece Drake kicked out of college, which according to Wren, was because of Ali. It seems unlikely that Mike would have been involved in that incident, but if the Liars decide to head to said frat house for some investigation, could they run into Mike there? The teenager has a history of sneaking out. Has he also developed a habit of frequenting frat parties? And we thought he could fall no further...

Spencer and Mike: Group Therapy Buddies

Last we saw him, Mike was recently recovered from a serious bout of depression. He seemed to be doing a lot better (i.e. not physically assaulting his family members), but we wouldn’t be surprised if he was still seeing a therapist. You know who else’s mental health recently took a turn for the worse? Spencer! We’re thinking these two could bond in group therapy. We’re not really sure what could come of this storyline, but we’re still convinced that Mike might know more about “A” and/or Ali’s murder than any of the Liars have guessed. To be honest, Aria seems to be only sporadically interested in her brother’s welfare, so Spencer might be a better choice for the reveal. It could also cause some dramatic Sparia tension (that would obviously eventually be resolved with hugs and talking through bathroom stall doors).

“B” Team Business

We haven’t seen Mike for awhile, so he could be up to just about anything. The Season 3 finale revealed a modge podge group of people - Jenna, Melissa, Shana, and Wilden — as the “B” Team. The “A” Team was much larger than originally suspected, could the “B” Team be, as well? Mike has seemingly no connection to this group, but his character is pretty unknown in general and has a dark side. He also was getting into trouble with the law for breaking into Rosewood residences, which hints at a possible Wilden connection. Could Mike be part of the mysterious “B” Team?

Noel and Mike: One Hit Wonders

Way back in Season 1, you may remember that Aria was pissed because Mike started hanging out with the forever creepy Noel Kahn. Nothing ever really seemed to come of it, but that doesn’t mean nothing ever will... We know Noel has talent on the guitar, and Mike is related to Aria, who has musical ability, so we’re thinking these two form a boy band and hit the road. Both characters have been neglected this past season, and would have plenty to sing about. Possible band names: The Wrath of Kahn, Ali’s Killers, or The “A” Major Team. (Are those last two too spoilery?)
