Kelly Osbourne: I’m Still Working to Not See Myself as a “Fat Person”
Kelly Osbourne looks and acts nothing like she did before Dancing With the Stars Season 9, which put her on the path to weight loss and good health.
She lost about 70 pounds, lightened her hair, went glam instead of goth, and got a job as a fashion expert on E!’s Fashion Police. But it’s not that easy to shed your old insecurities with the pounds.
"I call myself a former fat person, and when you’re an FFP, you still see yourself as the person you used to be,” Kelly told SELF (via RadarOnline) in its new May issue. “That’s something I’m genuinely working on all the time."
She said she’s more secure than she’s ever been, but everyone has good days and bad days and she’s self-deprecating about her own looks.
"When you change your body, you start to get selfish. You’re like, Oh, but that’s still fat and that’s still gross and why can’t I look like that? To stop myself I have to look at how far I have come. I’ve learned to eat right and look after myself. Also, I don’t weigh myself."
Kelly recently suffered a seizure while shooting Fashion Police, and we just have to hope doctors figured out what triggered that event and how to prevent a recurrence. You only get one body in this life — it doesn’t have to be size 2, it just has to be healthy!
