Once Upon a Time Season 2 Finale: Neverland Dream Casting
We’re more than a little excited that the Once Upon a Time crew will be making the trek to Neverland in the two-part Season 2 finale. We’re not sure how long their stay will be, but we thought we’d put in our votes for which Neverland characters we’d most like to see and who we want to play them just in case they plan on staying awhile. To Neverland!
Tiger Lily is a fierce female character and, in that sense, would fit in well in the OUAT world. We’d like to see her save herself from Hook’s pirates rather than rely on Peter Pan to do the rescuing, though. Who would we like to see fill the role? Bianca Lawson (Pretty Little Liars’ Maya) is a seasoned television actress with what we think would be a good look for the part. She may be a bit old for the role, but we’ve missed this actress since she was killed off PLL. It would be intriguing to see a Tiger Lily all grown up — a late 20s warrior who leads her people against the many threats in Neverland.
Tink is one of our favorite Peter Pan characters. She’s powerful, mischievous, and a loyal friend. She also doesn’t always do what she is told, but what she thinks is right, which we can respect. Sure, she gets the Lost Boys to shoot Wendy out of the sky because she’s jealous of best friend Peter’s affection for the girl, but Wendy survived, so we’ll let it go.
Who could handle playing this iconic character — a role previously filled by America's sweetheart Julia Roberts in Hook? How kismet would it be to cast Julia’s niece, Emma Roberts, in the part? She’s currently filming the pilot for the television adaptation of young adult novel Delirium, but if that doesn’t work out, we think she could rock the Tinker Bell role.
Wendy is an iconic character. What little girl doesn’t want to run away to Neverland to be a pirate at some point? A trip to Neverland would be incomplete without a Wendy bird and we have some thoughts about who should play the part.
Our top choice is 19-year-old Scottish actress Freya Mavor, best known for her role as Mini McGuiness on Britain’s Skins. She’s the perfect combination of awkward girl-next-door and blossoming beauty. She’s currently filming the BBC miniseries’ The White Queen, but we think she’d have time for a guest spot on OUAT (with the possibility of a recurring character, of course). Check out Freya in this Youtube video behind-the-scenes of Skins.
No Neverland would be complete without a Peter Pan. We’d like to see Thomas Sangsterplay the role. The British actor, perhaps best known for playing Liam Neeson’s son in Love Actually and Simon in Nanny McPhee, is all grown up and starring in Season 3 of HBO's Game of Thrones as Jojen Reed. The 22-year-old might technically be a bit old for the part, but we think he looks young enough to pull it off and would be able to portray Peter’s dual mischievousness, arrogance, and idealism well.
