Grey’s Anatomy Season 9, Episode 21: “Sleeping Monster” Promo: 5 Things We Learned (VIDEO)

We're constantly looking for clues about what's coming up next on Grey's Anatomy Season 9, and what better source of info than the promo itself?

We've taken a close look at the preview for Season 9, Episode 21: "Sleeping Monster," and the drama has hit an all-time high for Dr. Bailey and the Grey Sloan Memorial docs. Here’s what we gathered from our frame-by-frame analysis of the latest promo.

Everyone is dead. As Jackson announces, “Our patients are dead!” we gather that all three of the post-op infected patients have passed, or at the very least a second one has. It still remains a mystery how it happened, but all fingers are pointed at Dr. Bailey.

Bailey’s under fire — and could get fired. As we saw at the end of Season 9, Episode 20: “She’s Killing Me,” Bailey is at the center of this mysterious infection and she could get fired. “They think I did something wrong!” she exclaims, and we see her hand being swabbed — perhaps by the CDC, who is investigating.

Another tragedy at the hospital? Owen can be calm, cool, and collected sometimes, but in the promo, he screams, “What the hell happened?!” If the Chief of Surgery is yelling, things can’t be good. We’re guessing another big accident or tragedy has patients pouring in during a stressful time, though he could also be referring to the Bailey situation.

Are April and Jackson at it again? No, we don’t mean going at it — we mean big fights. Considering that April yells, “Everything has been ruined because of you!” we bet the sex talk came up again, and either Matthew breaks up with April for good or she’s just upset again.

At least one person turns their back on Bailey. The ominous voiceover in the promo says that the situation will “turn friends on each other,” and we see everyone in the boardroom looking very serious, so likely, there’s a split on if they should fire Bailey. “We need to stand by our doctors,” we hear Meredith explain, which gives us hope, but then Richard tells someone, “It’s not the hospital — it’s on doctor.” Oh no! Could Dr. Webber really turn on Bailey? We’ll just have to wait and see.
