American Idol Judges React to Boston Marathon Bombing: “Praying For Boston”
The nation was sent reeling on Monday after a terrifying Boston Marathon bombing killed two people and injured dozens. Two bombs placed near the finish line caused the Boston Marathon explosions that some reports are saying have sent many injured to area hospitals with missing limbs.
In Hollywood and around the country, celebrities with ties to Boston, or who just felt moved to speak out against the violence, took to their Twitter feeds and Facebook pages to express their horror over the Boston Marathon bombing.
Several American Idol judges contributed their thoughts and prayers to cyberspace after the news of the Boston Marathon explosions hit the press, including the normally flamboyant and exuberant Nicki Minaj. In contrast to her usually vivacious personality, Nicki sent out a somber and eloquent message on Twitter in support of the victims of the Boston Marathon tragedy.
“My heart goes out to everyone who woke up this morning to enjoy a peaceful marathon but were met w/senseless destruction. #GodBlessAmerica.”
American Idol judge Randy Jackson also posted his sadness over the Boston Marathon explosions to his Twitter page, stating simply: “Praying for Boston right now.” Mariah Carey sent out a message saying: "So sad I am at loss for words. My heart goes out to everyone in Boston. #PrayForBoston."
Ryan Seacrest, host of American Idol 2013, has not yet posted a statement himself, but the most recent message on his Twitter feed is a retweet about the heroic efforts of some of the Boston Marathon runners after the bombing:
“RT @NBCSN: Reports of Marathon Runners that crossed finish line and continued to run to Mass General Hospital to give blood to victims.”
