Dancing With the Stars 2013: Tristan MacManus Teases “Showstopper” Performance (VIDEO)

Dancing With the Stars has been on for sixteen glorious seasons, but don’t get it twisted — the hit competition show is anything but stale.

For Week 5 performances, the Mirror Ball hopefuls will participate in “Len’s Side-by-Side Challenge,” in which they will go up against two pros — including dancing identical choreography for around 15 seconds — during tonight’s episode.

Though we know the basics about the performances, gone-too-soon pro Tristan MacManus (who left the competition due to partner Dorothy Hamill’s medical condition) dished all of the details during the Dancing With the Stars pre-show, which you can watch below.

Tristan revealed that he’ll be in three dances tonight with a “couple of professionals from previous seasons,” including the ever-sexy Maksim Chmerkovskiy, Anna Trebunskaya, Chelsie Hightower, and recently-eliminated Tony Dovolani, among others. And the best part? He promises an elaborate showstopper performance!

“This season, more so than any I think, we’re starting to try to do a lot more bigger numbers,” he teased. “We’re fortunate that we have a lot of great dancers who are involved with the show, and when there are only 12 places up for grabs, somebody is always going to be disappointed, so we’re lucky to be able to bring people back.”

As we already knew, he explains that the side-by-side performance is divided into sections. “First 30 seconds two pros, next 15 seconds are side-by-side identical choreography — mirror each other — then they [competing pair] complete the dance after.” According to @DWTSGossip, he and Chelsie will be dancing the Quickstep with Sean Lowe and Peta Murgatroyd.

We can’t wait to see Tristan back in action, and we’re sure he’ll be back throughout the rest of the season, too. As for that finale dance with Dorothy, though? He won’t start planning for a few weeks, as she’s still in a lot of pain, but he promises (in his adorable Irish accent), “I’ve got a lot of ideas in me head!”

Sounds magically delicious to us, Tristan! Are you excited for his return? Sound off below.
