Michael Douglas’s Son Cameron Loses Appeal to Lessen Prison Sentence
Michael Douglas's son is spending more time behind bars.
Cameron Douglas, the 34-year-old son of the acting legend, has failed in an attempt to lessen his prison sentence, according to E! Online.
Cameron was appealing a judge's 2011 decision to tack on an additional four and a half years onto his prison sentence. He is now scheduled to be released from prison in 2018.
Cameron was initially sentenced to only five years behind bars for heroin possession and conspiracy to distribute narcotics in 2010. The sentence was on the lenient side because he cooperated with authorities.
However, the additional time was tacked on when he was caught in prison with drugs and lied about how he got them.
In December 2012, Cameron had his leg broken by another inmate.
Cameron has done a minimal amount of acting over the years, starring in the 2003 film It Runs in the Family with father Michael and grandfather Kirk Douglas.
Cameron is Michael's only child from his marriage to Diandra Luker, whom he split from in 2000. Michael is currently married to Catherine Zeta-Jones.
