The Walking Dead Season 3: Was This Your Favorite Episode Too?

Bless our undead hearts, we have nothing but time to kill until The Walking Dead Season 4 starts — even just filming, never mind the premiere — so why not keep talking about Season 3?

AMC is up for it, so they posted a poll asking fans for their favorite episodes from TWD Season 3.

Here are the results so far, after thousands of votes:

1. Episode 12, "Clear"
2. Episode 15, "This Sorrowful Life"
3. Episode 8, "Made to Suffer"
4. Episode 1, "Seed"
5. Episode 16, "Welcome to the Tombs"
6. Episode 14, "Prey"
7. Episode 9, "The Suicide King"
8. Episode 2, "Sick"
9. Episode 4, "Killer Within"
10. Episode 10, "Home"
11. Episode 7, "When the Dead Come Knocking"
12. Episode 6, "Hounded"
13. Episode 11, "I Ain't a Judas"
14. Episode 5, "Say the Word"
15. Episode 13, "Arrow on the Doorpost"
16. Episode 3, "Walk With Me"

Not surprised by the top and bottom. "Clear" was the off-campus trip where we reunited with Morgan. We've been told that Season 4 will have more episodes like that, which is a good sign. "Walk With Me," at the bottom, was Woodbury-centric, with no prison. So it's kind of interesting that the highest and lowest episodes were prison-free, in different ways.

"This Sorrowful Life" ranked high because of Merle's death and Daryl's anguish, but what in Dixon's name is "Welcome to the Tombs" doing at #5? You really thought the season finale was that good — better than "Killer Within," with Lori's passing and T-Dog's death? We'd rank that one toward the top, along with the season premiere, "Clear" and more first-half content. But at the risk of being snarked at, we're going to have to stand up for "Arrow on the Doorpost." There's nothing wrong with taking a moment for the two leaders to just talk and feel each other out (in a non-sexy way) over a warehouse table. That was a humanizing episode, especially for Hershel & Milton/Daryl & Martinez, 'cause it showed the two sides of the trenches weren't that different, which is how it is in any "war."
