Girls Star Jemima Kirke Kisses Another Woman in New Ad
Jemima Kirke’s character on Girls has always enjoyed a bit of boundary-pushing, and it appears that some of that extends into the actress’ other projects as well.
Following the wrap of Girls’ second season, painter, actress, model, and muse Jemima went back to one of her other passions, modeling for Stone Fox Bride’s new lookbook. In one photo in the catalog, Kirke models her own eponymous dress, a white lace, floor-length number with not so much as a slip worn underneath.
Jemima, who plays free-spirited Jessa on the hit HBO show, also poses in a long, cream-colored sheath gown with matching floor-length veil opposite jewelry designer Pamela Love, with whom she is engaged in a passionate lip-lock. The minimalist dresses and nature-based accessories are aimed at brides who aren’t “into uptown. Or anything puffy or fluffy.”
While we’re sure the style, and maybe even the same-sex kiss, would scandalize some of the other Girls, Jemima’s character has always been nearly as non-traditional as the actress herself.
Stone Fox Owner Molly Guy explained the many sides of Jemima, telling Into The Gloss, “Jemima is a painter-turned-actress who believes that, in her past life, she was a child prostitute and junkie. (In real life she wears fancy cashmere sweaters and is a Brooklyn mother-of-two married to a nice Jewish lawyer.)"
