Once Upon a Time Season 2 Finale: Rumple and [SPOILER] Game-Changer

What will the finale of Once Upon a Time Season 2 bring? Co-creator Edward Kitsis spilled the details on the first part (Season 2, Episode 21: “Second Star to the Right”) to TVLine, and we may be more excited about this episode than the final part of the finale (which is sure to be a game-changer).

According to Edward, Captain Hook (Colin O’Donoghue) will be resurfacing “very soon, and under surprising circumstances,” and “Second Star” will reveal his connection to Neal/Baelfire (Michael Raymond-James). Better yet? Edward said about the connection, “We can’t read every theory out there on the Internet, but this [connection] has so far been kept secret.”

As cool as the reveal that Neal is Rumple’s long-lost son was, most viewers saw it coming a mile away. We are excited to hear that the Hook/Neal connection will be less predictable. Does this mean that Neal and Hook share a more amiable past than assumed? Could Bae have known Hook before his mother died, even? Maybe his mother tried to take Bae with her when she ran off with Hook? Or perhaps Bae served on Hook’s crew when he was in Neverland?

And if that’s not exciting enough, Edward also revealed that the Rumple/Bae game-changer that Robert Carlyle hinted at last month will happen in “Second Star to the Right.”

“I know what he was hinting at,” Edward said, “and yeah, it’s really big.” We’re not sure if we can take the suspense! (Though the return of new episodes starting this week will certainly help.)

What do you think the Rumple/Bae game-changer is? And how do Neal and Hook know each other? Share your theories in the comments below!
