Will NBC’s Heroes Return with New Episodes — On a Different Network?
Save the cheerleader, save the... series?
MSN is in talks to bring back the superhero drama Heroes, according to TV Line.
MSN is developing content for its new channel, which will be available on Xbox.
One idea that the company is considering is reviving Heroes with new stories and characters.
But don't worry, all you fans of the first version of the show: The hope is to have the original cast members pop by for cameos from time to time.
"The talks are said to be in the preliminary stages," says TV Line.
Heroes first aired on NBC from 2006 through 2010. The show was initially very popular and buzz, but excitement quickly died down throughout its run.
The original's ensemble cast included Hayden Panettiere, Zachary Quinto, Ali Larter, Greg Grunberg, and Milo Ventimiglia. Kristen Bell also had a recurring role.
Whether any of the original cast members would have time for the show remains to be seen. Hayden is now starring on Nashville, while Zachary has a busy film career, with the new Star Trek opening next month.
Still, we must say that the idea of bringing this show back with new characters is amazing. Can't wait!
It's rare for a long-since-canceled series to get brought back on a different network, but it certainly isn't unheard of, especially in the sci-fi realm. After Fox canceled Futurama in 2003, the show returned on Comedy Central in 2008.
