Bachelor Competitor Ready For Love CANCELED After 2 Episodes
We’re all for hot guys searching for hot girls (er, we mean love) on reality TV. But NBC has just learned the lesson of many who came before them with their series, Ready For Love: When it comes to reality dating shows, don’t mess with The Bachelor. Although the Eva Longoria-produced / Bill and Giuliana Rancic-helmed show debuted in the Tuesday post-Voice slot on April 9, it has already been canceled!
We’re trying not to gloat, because everyone deserves love or whatever, but the fact is that Ready For Love came into the arena with guns blazing, claiming that their matchmaker-picked love connections were better than The Bachelor’s casting agent-chosen ones. Wrong.
Although only two episodes of the show have aired, the show will be yanked from the air after its April 30 episode. Ready For Love premiered with a best-of-time-slot showing, but has dropped each hour since the first, and bottomed out at 3.2 million viewers (a 1.2 rating in the key demo) for its April 17 airing of the second episode. RFL came into the 10pm Tuesday time slot to replace another underperforming show, Smash, which was exiled to Saturday night when it failed to get the ratings the network wanted.
Though the show has already been filmed, it’s unclear if the remaining episodes will be shown on the Internet. This means we may never know what happens in the love journeys we almost (nope) cared about. Sounds like something Tim from The Plain White T’s can write a song about. If you don’t know what we’re talking about, we won’t be surprised. Only 3.2 million people do.
