Phillip Phillips’ “Home” Featured In Bruins Emotional Boston Marathon Bombings Tribute
The nation is still reeling from the terrible tragedy of the Boston Marathon bombings and tributes to the victims keep pouring in across the country. On Tuesday, American Idol winner Phillip Phillips’ hit single “Home” was featured in one moving tribute to those injured and killed in Monday’s terrible Boston Marathon explosions.
At the Bruins hockey game on Tuesday, before the National Anthem, there was a moment of silence to honor the victims of the Boston Marathon terrorist attack. As the arena fell into quiet, a video tribute played a montage of photos set to Phillip Phillips’ home. Watching the aftermath seeing such a fun, high-spirited, peaceful event turn into a day of horror is enough to make anyone burst into tears.
As the Boston Bruins prepared to take the ice, the camera lingered on their skates, adorned with the catchphrase that stormed across the nation following the bombings, “Pray for Boston.” The video montage closed out with the words, written in bold:
WE ARE BOSTON
WE ARE STRONG
Our thoughts go out to everyone in Boston and around the nation impacted by the events of April 15, 2013.
