Jenelle Evans’s Heroin Arrest Confirmed By Caswell Beach Police
UPDATE: Jenelle Evans was released on bond on Tuesday, as confirmed to Wetpaint Entertainment by Jenelle's lawyer Dustin Sullivan. She was placed on two $10,000 bonds. Dustin tells us exclusively that he believes Courtland is still in custody.
On April 23, Jenelle Evans and husband Courtland Rogers were arrested for heroin possession and domestic assault, as initially reported by TMZ. Wetpaint Entertainment received confirmation of the arrest from North Carolina's Caswell Beach Police Department in Brunswick County, where Jenelle and Courtland were taken into custody.
According to the three reports filed against Jenelle by arresting officer Sam Massey, she's facing charges of Simple Assault, Heroin Possession (with the intent to manufacture/sell/deliver), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Simple Possession of a Controlled Substance.
The first charge alleges that Jenelle "willfully did assault and strike Courtland Rogers by hitting him with a piece of furniture." The second charge for heroin possession states that she "willfully and feloniously did possess with the intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a controlled substance, namely 12 BINDLES of Heroin." As for the paraphernalia, the report identifies the items as "PLASTIC WRAPPING PAPER AND A GLASS SMOKING PIPE" used to "package, repackage, store, contain, conceal, and introduce into the body." And the last offense identifies the controlled substance in question as the painkiller Percocet (oxycodone).
Courtland's facing Assault on a Female, Heroin Possession (with the intent to sell), and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Both Jenelle and Courtland are due in court in Brunswick County on April 25, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. for the drug charges, and again on June 3, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. for the assault charges.
