What can we expect from American Idol 2013 Top 4 week? From the rumored song themes leaked in American Idol spoilers, we’re hoping this could be week of truly fabulous performances.
As we speed toward the American Idol 2013 finale, it becomes increasingly critical for the Top 4 ladies to make the right song choices. That’s why we’re pleased with this week’s two song themes, both of which provide the Season 12 Top 4 with plenty of room to show their individual strengths.
The first theme for Wednesday night’s American Idol performances show will be “one hit wonders” — one of our favorite choices. There are so many amazing one hit wonders from so many eras, we can’t wait to see what the ladies choose. The second theme is about as wide a category as you can get, a “singer’s choice” selection. This means, pretty much, the ladies can choose any song they want to perform — as long as Idol producers are willing to pay the license fee.
Since we’re now down to just the Top 4 ladies, we can expect tons of filler material on Wednesday during the performances show. This could end up being extra duet performances, more video background montages, or some other random fluff. We are personally hoping for a couple of fabulous duets. Our picks? Angie and Candice on one duet, with Kree and Amber on another.
On Thursday night’s American Idol results show, barring any last minute weirdness, the Top 4 ladies will be cut down to just three remaining finalists. However, we do now have an extra week before the American Idol finale since the judges didn’t use their save. So at some point there is likely going to be a week that no one goes home. We don’t think it will be this week, but you never know.
As for guest performers for this week, the American Idol alumni parade continues. For the Top 4 results night on Thursday, former American Idol Season 9 winner Le DeWyze will make an apeparance with his new single, "Silver Lining". Stefano Langone of Season 10 has also confirmed he will make an appearance with his latest single "Yest to Love". Also rumored to be showing up? Season 4 finalist and star of Broadway's Jekyll and Hyde, Constantine Maroulis, but we think he might show up on a later show. Fall Out Boy and Ariana Grande have also been rumored, but no confirmation on either of those.
Of course, if rumors are true that the contigency plan for the American Idol judges not using their save may be NO elimination this week... producers might be able to just shove all of those performers in somehow!
