Gary Shirley on Jenelle Evans’s Heroin Arrest: Learn From Amber!

Teen Mom 2's Jenelle Evans was arrested for the eighth time in North Carolina on April 23, 2013 after a physical altercation with her husband, Courtland Rogers. When Caswell Beach police arrived on the scene, they found 12 bindles of heroin, along with drug paraphernalia and Percocet not prescribed to her. Jenelle was bonded out later that day, but her legal troubles are far from over...

However, it does seem like Jenelle's received quite a few "Get Out of Jail Free" cards since her first arrest in 2010, and even got away with skipping the slammer to attend a Ke$ha concert! This girl should be kissing the ground her lawyer walks on. But seriously, what gives?

According to original Teen Mom cast member Gary Shirley, whose baby mama Amber Portwood is currently behind bars, Jenelle's fate would be much different if she weren't in the great state of North Cackalacky.

"@PBandJenelley_1 has been 1 lucky girl," he wrote on Twitter on April 24. "I mean if she were here in Anderson IN she'd be in prison like 15 charges ago. #learnfromAmber."

Interestingly enough, Jenelle told Wetpaint Entertainment just last year that Amber's story has inspired her to stay clean. "It sounds kind of mean in a way — but it gave me motivation to do better. To get the motivation to say, OK, even though she's doing that, I'm doing good and I'm going to stay on the right track," Jenelle said at the time.

As you may recall, Amber was first arrested in November 2010 after MTV cameras captured footage of her slapping and choking Gary. She was arrested again in December 2010 when police found her in possession of prescription pills not prescribed to her. The following year she entered rehab after a suicide attempt, but checked out two months later. Amber was arrested yet again at the end of 2011 for violating her probation, and struck a plea deal that required her to return to rehab — but, as we all know, she failed to complete the program and was sentenced to 5 years behind bars at Rockville Correctional Facility in Indiana.

Jenelle, on the other hand, hasn't spent more than a few hours in jail. But this time around she may not be so lucky considering the severity of the charges.

What do you guys think? Has the state of North Carolina been too lenient on Jenelle? Tell us below.
