What to Eat For Healthy, Happy Hair

Tired of waking up to tangled, frizzy hair every morning? Join the club, ladies. It's time to kick it into third and take your locks to the next level of fab. The secret? A healthy diet! Sure, fancy hair products can do wonders in a pinch, but eating the right food will give you supermodel-worthy tresses.

Chowing down on scrumptious snacks filled with vitamins, minerals, and proteins can bring life to your mane, and the healthier your diet, the healthier the cell growth in your hair. And no, popping a few pills from your local Whole Foods store won't have the same effect –– if you want lustrous locks, you're going to have to watch what you eat!

Check out some of the hair-friendly foods you should think about adding to your diet, courtesy of the folks at Refinery 29.

Omega 3 Fatty Acids
If you don't eat enough Omega 3s your hair might become dry, limp, and lifeless. In short, nothing to write home about. Luckily, you can stock up on fatty acids in salmon, sardines, walnuts, and flaxseed.

Vitamins A and C
Most of us take a multivitamin every morning, but why not take it one step further by loading up on fruits and veggies that are rich in vitamins A and C? Both these vits help your scalp produce sebum, a healthy oil that will give your hair an enviable sheen.

Protein is found in meat, eggs, and dairy products, so it's more than likely that you already include it in your diet (well, unless you're vegan). Just make sure to keep up the good work, because low protein diets can cause hair to become weak and lackluster.

Bangin' bangs and lovely locks, here you come! And make sure to head over to Refinery 29 for the full list of foods your hair loves.
