With the Grey's AnatomySeason 9 finale looming in the future, fans are starting to worry about the safety of their favorite docs. After all, the Season 8 finale led to the death of Lexie and Mark, and left Arizona without a leg. Will Season 9 end on a similarly depressing note?

We know the finale is supposed to be "bold" and "shocking," which doesn't exactly bode well, and a recently spoiler from E! Online adds to the worry.
E! reports that there will definitely be a death on one of four popular shows — Bones, Grimm, Hawaii Five-0, and, yes, Grey's. Ruh-roh. But is Grey's the show this spoiler is about?
We do know that back when half the docs "quit" so they could buy the hospital, showrunner Shonda Rhimes promised there would be "no cast departures." Does that still hold true, or did that assurance only apply to the midseason drama?
We also know the big disaster in this year's finale is a superstorm that causes the power to go out. That sounds stressful and dramatic, but it's not really a situation where you'd expect any of the docs to die. Their patients could be in trouble because of the lack of electricity, but we doubt the storm will knock down the hospital, so there's no big physical danger to the healthy docs that we can think of.
The only character we're really worried about at this point is Meredith (and her baby), since synopses for the final two episodes make it sound she runs into pregnancy complications and/or starts giving birth around the time of the storm. But there's no way the writers would kill Mer or her child, right?
