Has falling for Elijah (Daniel Gillies) softened that doppelganger heart of hers? Let’s take a closer look at what she wrote to the hybrid. It’s his whole reason for heading to New Orleans in The Originals pilot, after all.
Here’s Katherine’s note:
I hear Elijah has refused you the cure and in return, you have refused me my freedom. Shame on you both. But while you boys sort out your problems, i have one last thing to offer you. I’ve caught wind that there’s a witch in New Orleans called Jane-Anne Deveraux plotting a move against you. Hunt her down. What she has to say will rattle you so deeply to your core that chasing little old me will be the least of your concerns. It’s been a fun five centuries, Klaus, but I’ve worn down too many good heels running from you.
Love — and hate — Katerina
Aw. She signed it with love. But we think any lingering affection she has for Klaus has nothing to do with her motivations. She says it herself in the letter that after he becomes involved with the Louisiana witches, “chasing little old me will be the least of your concerns.”
Though Klaus hasn’t put much effort into hunting down this particular prey as of late, she’s still hoping the hybrid will become too engrossed in whatever’s going down in the French Quarter to give her a second though.
It remains to be seen whether Klaus can multitask with his vendettas or if he’ll just have to put his revenge against Kat on the backburner. It would certainly make Elijah happy if he did — but his siblings’ happiness has rarely been motivation enough for Klaus.
We do think she’s being a tad harsh on Elijah, too. The Original was just trying to do a good deed for his sister. Evidently, when it comes to them, family comes first.
