Big Bang Theory’s Kaley Cuoco Admits Wearing Fake Bangs to Awards Show
Someone did not follow the eight simple rules to having good hair.
The Big Bang Theory star Kaley Cuoco has admitted to wearing fake bangs to this year's SAG Awards, according to Business Insider.
Kaley confessed to Jimmy Kimmel on April 25 that the weave was to hide a black eye and six stitches that she acquired during a prank-gone-wrong on the Big Bang set.
Apparently, she and co-star Johnny Galecki had hoped to shock the show's crew with a prank to add to the DVD gag reel, but it was a lot more painful than planned.
"Johnny and I decided, now that we have the scene, let's do a prank where he actually fake punches me, and I go flying out of frame," Kaley reveals.
But Johnny accidentally made contact on the punch, and she was gushing blood, unbeknownst to her.
"They [the crew] thought I went under [the table] and sprayed blood on my face," she says. "I had cracked my head open and I had blood squirting down my face. I didn't even know. I had no idea."
The bangs had earned her a fair amount of criticism from fashion critics at the time, and Kaley realizes that it wasn’t exactly her best look.
"I wanted to wear them because it covered my eye and I was really insecure about this huge black eye," Kaley adds. "These bangs — who I've named Bev — almost ruined my entire career."
Luckily, she is now able to joke about what sounds like a very scary injury.
By the way, who doesn’t name their fake bangs — are we right?
