NBC Renews Five More Shows — Including Parenthood, Revolution

NBC is a loving parent to a few of its fan-favorite dramas.

The network has announced that it is renewing five of its drama, according to Entertainment Weekly.

So which five are they? The answer is: Parenthood, Revolution, Grimm, Law & Order: SVU, and Chicago Fire. Hooray!

All five shows have been given a 22-episode order for the 2013-2014 season, which is welcome news for Parenthood fans, considering that the show only had 15 episodes this seasons.

“On the verge of our 2013 fall scheduling decisions, we’re pleased to renew five drama series that will be important to our new season line-up,” says the president of NBC Entertainment. “These complex shows represent a broad range of genres and tones, and all of them stand out for us in a television landscape now filled with one-hour series.

"We’re especially pleased to be renewing Revolution and Chicago Fire — two first-season successes — and there will be more returning series announcements made in the next couple of weeks," the NBC exec continues.

The fate of a few NBC dramas is still up in the air, including Hannibal, Smash, and Deception. Time to start biting your fingernails if you like those shows. (Translation: Don't hold your breath, Smash fans.)

The network also has yet to reveal the verdict of its comedies. Parks & Rec is seen as likely to return, but things are far iffier for its other laughers, like Whitney, The New Normal, and Community.

We're especially excited for the return Parenthood, which just keeps getting better.

Congrats to the returning shows! And let's hope the news about the remaining shows isn't too grim.
