American Idol Winner Phillip Phillips Wants You To Help Save The Music

Season 11 American Idol Winner Phillip Phillips needs your help. And, he’s offering up a special chance to be featured in one of his upcoming music videos if you’ll lend a hand!

Phillip Phillips has partnered up with and VH1’s Save The Music Foundation to help raise awareness and funds to save programs in music education across the U.S.

As part of the Band Together campaign, Phillip is inviting his fans to participate in a weekly video challenge. At the end of the challenges, the best entries will be edited together and included in a new music video for his single, “Gone, Gone, Gone.”

The first video challenge from Phillip has just been released and he’s asking his fans to create a beat. Check out the clip below for all the details on the first week of the challenge and read the rules on how to submit your video.

1) put on some headphones (so we can't hear THIS video in the recording)

2) Set up a camera (web cam, video cam, flip cam, whatever)

3) Cue up this video to 01:34

Hit record and get ready to clap along. GET CREATIVE! do it in a place where it will sound cool, like a stairwell or under a bridge or in a concert hall! Use things like basketballs, foam noodles, glasses, anything that makes sound when you hit it!

4) Once you record the video, upload it to YouTube and title it "Band Together Weekly Challenge #1"

Post comments or links on the original challenge video page of what you used to make your beat. The more variety, the better the final video will be.

Additionally, the better your video quality is the more likely that your video clip will be selected for the final music video so get creative!
