On April 29, Team Adam‘s country singer Amber Carrington and folk duo Midas Whale were paired to sing against one another on The Voice 2013 knockout rounds. Amber came out first, singing her rendition of “I’m With You” by Avril Lavigne. Amber chose the song to commemorate her mother, who recently passed away.

Midas Whale followed close behind Amber, with their folky rendition of Stevie Wonder’s funk song “Higher Ground.” While the coaches loved the duo’s refreshing arrangement, coach Adam chose Amber to represent his team in the live shows.
