Usually, they just have three couples in the end, but a fourth couple could potentially add a surprise "dark horse" factor, and there's also this practical element we never would've considered — "Good for the fourth couple who’s going to get paid an extra couple of bucks," pro Val Chmerkovskiy told Xfinitytv. Derek Hough also seems to be fine with four couples. “[Producers] never told us not to say anything [about it]. Honestly, it [means] more dances for the finals. It’s more entertainment for the viewers at home and that’s what it’s all about.”
But will it really change too much? This has been a pretty predictable season in terms of who is at the top and who is at the bottom. It's possible the final four won't be Kellie Pickler, Zendaya Coleman, Jacoby Jones and Aly Raisman, but it feels like we're headed in that direction, and we’re still guessing it’ll be Kellie vs. Zendaya standing opposite each other in those final minutes.
What do you think of a final four finale? Exciting? Meh?
