Alexander Skarsgard Is in Talks to Star in The Crow Remake: Report (UPDATE)
UPDATE: Fans excited about seeing Alexander in the upcoming remake of The Crow will be sorely disappointed. Contact Music reports the actor shot down rumors he would be appearing in the flick during a press event for his latest film, What Maisie Knew.
"No, I'm not attached to anything right now after True Blood," Alexander told reporters.
Alexander Skarsgard may be adding to his repetoire of sexy and undead characters.
The True Blood star is apparently in talks to star in the upcoming film remake of The Crow, according to Deadline.
This is said to be a coveted role, as many big names were once in talks for the part, including Mark Wahlberg, Bradley Cooper, and James McAvoy.
Lately, rumors were swirling that Thor star Tom Hiddleston was close to nabbing the title role in the film.
However, Deadline has heard that it's actually Alexander who's in the lead for the part.
"It’s Skarsgard’s role if he wants it," Deadline writes.
The Crow is about a rock star who comes back from the dead to avenge his and his fiancee's deaths.
The original film was released in 1994 and was infamous for the fact that star Brandon Lee died from an injury sustained while shooting the film.
We can only assume that this new take on The Crow would be a bigger success than Alexander's last attempt at a Hollywood blockbuster: A little film called Battleship. The less said about that turkey, the better.
We must say, we think Alexander would be a perfect fit to carry on the legacy of a beloved film like The Crow.
