Leighton Meester to Play a Lesbian In Upcoming Adam Brody Flick
When we first heard last week that Leighton Meester was making a movie with IRL boyfriend Adam Brody, we were like “Aww, cuuuuuute!” After all, nothing fulfills our creepy, voyeuristic tendencies quite like seeing a real life couple kiss (or whatever!) onscreen. But, um, that’s not what’s happening in the currently-in-production film Life Partners, according to Deadline’s inside scoop.
The comedy will be the first for Director/Co-Writer Susanna Fogel. And although we saw set pictures of the flick, which co-stars Community’s Gillian Jacobs, we had no idea what the movie was actually about until now. But here’s the story: “The comedy is about a codependent friendship between two very different girls.”
Gillian plays a type-A girl named Paige whose best friend Sasha (Leighton) is a lesbian slacker. Not exactly the Upper East Side society girl Leigh portrayed for six seasons on GG...
The rest of the premise goes like this: “Paige has vowed that she won’t get married until Sasha has the same legal right and that works out fine until Paige meets Tim (Adam Brody), a young and charming doctor.” Yeah, cute boys have a way of turning our resolution upside down. So, what happens? What you’d expect.
“As a crucial vote on gay marriage approaches, the threesome struggle with issues of love, friendship, and loyalty.” In moments like this, we have to ask the age-old question: What Would Seth Cohen Do?
