Nashville Finale Synopsis: “I’ll Never Get Out of This World Alive”

This is it, Nashville fans. The time has come for the first season of our Music City life to come to an end. In the season finale, “I’ll Never Get Out of This World Alive,” all of the questions we’ve been dying to answer will finally be resolved.

A shadow has been cast over country music's biggest night: Juliette (Hayden Panettiere) discovers a letter from Jolene (Sylvia Jefferies) revealing her mother's true feelings; Rayna (Connie Britton) and Deacon’s (Charles Esten) fairytale evening at the CMA Awards, even performing with Brad Paisley — who guest stars as himself — may not end in a happily-ever-after; and Gunnar (Sam Palladio) will do whatever it takes to win Scarlett’s (Clare Bowen) heart back — but is it too late? Meanwhile the U.S. Attorney's office is closing in on Teddy (Eric Close), and Peggy returns with a secret of her own.

See? We told you Peggy Kenter (Kimberly Williams-Paisley) was bad news! It takes a lot of nerve to mess with people’s lives while your IRL husband is performing with your TV affair’s ex-wife (did you get all that?).

And hold the phone: Gunns has to win Scarlett’s heart back?!? What does that mean? Did he cheat on her? Because we don’t care if this a fictional reality — we will NOT stand for that! Is it just us, or could Gunnar use another Deacon pep talk to stop being such an ass?

We can’t even talk about Deacon and Rayna. But please, go right ahead and spill all your feels in the comments. The Nashville Season 1 finale airs on May 22 at 10/9c on ABC.
