Are Jake and Vienna a Cautionary Tale for Sean and Catherine?
Sean Lowe has spent most of his engagement — at least the part of it that wasn’t shrouded in secret — in the spotlight, dancing the night away with another woman. Such is the life when you go straight from bended knee on The Bachelor to high-kicking on Dancing With The Stars.
Though Sean seems to be going strong with fiancée Catherine Guidici now, could his DWTS commitment mean there’s trouble on the horizon? We don’t know, but maybe dude should sit down and have a bro-to-bro chat with Season 14 Bachelor Jake Pavelka.
For those of you who don’t have a scrapbook for each of the combined 25 seasons of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, let’s all step into the wayback machine and travel to 2010. That’s when a sexy airline pilot named Jake Pavelka fell in love with Vienna Girardi, arguably the villain of his season.
Now, there are a lot of reasons why these two crazy kids didn’t work out, but Jake acknowledges in a recent People Magazine interview that one big cause for the split was his DWTS commitment.
“Being in Hollywood put a strain on our relationship,” Jake admits. “But who can say no to Dancing With The Stars?” Well, don’t ask us — or Sean, for that matter. He couldn’t resist the siren call of Bruno Tonioli, either.
Luckily for Sean, Catherine seems a little more supportive and, uh, mature than Vienna was. Here’s hoping these crazy kids can learn from Jake and Vienna’s mistakes and make it to the altar — or at the very least avoid a messy, televised breakup.
