American Idol 2013 Spoilers: Angie Miller’s Hometown Visit to Beverly, MA! (VIDEOS)

The first thing American Idol contestant Angie Miller did when she flew into Boston for her hometown visit was head to FOX 25 studios. She even did the weather report, for which she could have apparently just said, “It’s damn cold!” As she even told People, “I got off the plane and felt the cold weather and I was like, ‘Yep! Definitely back in Boston.”

The 19-year-old, who has always had an extremely strong online following, certainly has the backing of her hometown in Beverly, MA. In fact, Beverly High Principal Sean Gallagher estimated the crowd that showed up for her performance to be about 20,000!

Angie rode in style, taking a seat in a white Mustang convertible along a 1.3-mile strip for the parade from City Hall to Beverly High School, where the concert took place (and where she graduated from just last year). As The Salem News noted, “Fans stood on rooftops, clamored atop cars, climbed stepladders and leaned out windows to get a glimpse of Miller as she rode...”

Angie’s message seemed to be one of hope for those who may not shine as brightly as they like in high school.

“I remember being in high school and having terrible problems with my confidence and thinking I wasn’t good enough,” she said. “I want people to know that confidence is such a big thing and that you can accomplish your dreams. ... Just a year ago, I wasn’t even the lead in the musical (at Beverly High). I wasn’t even popular.”

“I can’t believe this,” Angie said, amazed at seeing the huge crowd, going on to say, “I’ve been in the ‘American Idol’ bubble. I didn’t even know what to expect. I’m so overwhelmed. I feel like this is home.”

And home is where her heart is. In fact, she asked for a moment of silence in honor of the Boston Marathon bombing victims. She then sang the national anthem, accompanied by the high school vocal ensemble. She even joined them in the second row, saying she wanted to mix in like she used to as part of the ensemble.

Angie performed some fan favorites, including “Titanium,” “Home,” “Love Came Down,” and she ended the set with her wildly popular original number, “You Set Me Free”. It was a true Miller Family affair, as her brother’s band, Exiting the Fall, accompanied Angie while parents Guy and Tana stood off to the side, singing along with their daughter.

When asked by People what the coolest moment was, Angie said, “I was home — but there were 200 people outside of my house waiting for me to walk out. It was a different atmosphere, and my family and I realized, ‘Wow, I'm at home but it's never going to be the same.’”

Ain’t that the truth! Whose hometown visit are you most excited to see?
