American Idol 2013 Spoilers: Candice Glover’s Hometown Visit to Beaufort, SC! (VIDEOS)

The American Idol 2013 Top 3 contestants did their hometown visits this past weekend and none seemed as totally nuts as Candice Glover’s trip. Candice arrived in Savannah on Friday night, greeted by a sea of fans and, according to her father, she stayed up until 5 a.m. catching up with friends.

Likely going on about an hour sleep, if that, Cancie Glover started her day bright and early on Saturday with a radio interview at Habarsham Marketplace, where she was greeted with the first of many Southern indulgences pecan pie!

The day also included an emotional family reunion. Candice’s family, including her six siblings, were also up at the crack of dawn, preparing some of her favorite foods, like fried chicken, her grandma’s macaroni and cheese, and her mother’s tuna salad. Of course, there was a cake that read “In it to win it!,” which is a nice homage to Randy Jackson, who has been a faithful fan all season.

“Time with my family was amazing. I laughed until I cried,” she later told The Herald. “I haven’t laughed that hard in like four months. I was happy to get back with them.”

An exhausted Candice moved on to a private afternoon reception for her at Penn Center, and then later the evening concert held at the intersection of Charles and Bay Street in Beaufort. Considering Candice grew up singing in church, it’s not surprising that the event began with a prayer, after which Candice told the crowd, “When I’m out in L.A., y’all inspire me.”

Despite the gray skies and on-and-off rain, Candice was in amazing spirits. And, although she told the audience she needed to conserve her voice, she sang six songs! She performed some familiar ones, like “Girl On Fire” and “Lovesong” before allowing the crowd to choose “Come Together”. Candice donned her signature heels, which she even wore on the show despite a broken toe, but ditched them in the middle of the show, joking, “This is how we do it in the country.”

The Beaufort High School gospel choir joined Candice on stage for a song, after which she called her grandmother, Albertha Middleton, on stage. "My grandmother put up with all my mess and my attitude," she said, turning to Albertha. "And I just want to tell you, I love you so much." She then presented her with two tickets to the finale on May 15. Sniff!

Candice told People she cried five or six times during the visit, saying, “seeing how far I’ve come, I kind of lost it.”

Whose hometown visit are you most excited to see?
