The series will be produced by Shine, the production company behind the country's versions of MasterChef and The Biggest Loser.
Network Ten has struggled with reality shows before — maybe Aussies aren't quite as reality-crazed as we are here in America — but its chief of programming, Beverley McGarvey, has full faith in the power of a hunky guy and a couple dozen potential soulmates.
"The Bachelor is one of the longest-running and most successful television franchises in the world, with productions in 24 countries," she says in a statement.
