Candice Glover’s American Idol Performances on 5/8/2013! (VIDEOS)
Candice Glover has yet to seriously falter on American Idol 2013 and we’re really hoping tonight won’t be the night she does. A couple of weeks ago, she did have a few somewhat relatively quiet performances, but there’s no denying her vocals have been flawless. The only danger she seemed to be running into was coming across as a dated jazz singer but, in recent weeks, she’s shown us she can take contemporary songs and knock them out of the park too.
Last week, Candice Glover made a brave move to take on a song that was technically wrong when it came to pronouns, singing Bruno Mars’ “When I Was Your Man,” but she proved it didn’t matter a bit. In fact, Keith Urban said he didn’t care about the “man thing” at all and Randy Jackson agreed. Nicki Minaj said she deserved a standing ovation, which prompted the other American Idol judges to follow suit (well, Mariah Carey did her signature half-standing-O).
Candice earned another standing ovation that night for her chilling rendition of Billie Holiday’s “You’ve Changed,” and the judges seemed to want to declare her the winner right then and there. In fact, Mariah said she wished she could download that version of the song. It’s easy to see Candice going down the road of Jennifer Hudson, creating a name for herself as a multi-talented diva.
Will Candice Glover be the one who wins American Idol 2013? Well, that will only happen if she earns your votes tonight! Watch her Top 3 American Idol performances below and let us know if you’ll be phoning in for Candice this evening!
