Is American Idol’s Kree Harrison the Next Carrie Underwood?
Kree Harrison seemed to be the longshot going into Thursday’s American Idol results show but the Nashville-based demo singer gathered up the voters with her touching hometown visit and that beautiful rendition of “Here Comes Goodbye.” Move over, Carrie Underwood. You may not be the only American Idol alum who can rally the country crowd!
The American Idol judges and Jimmy Iovine had been urging Kree to find a way to match her passion with her incredible vocals, and she married the two in the most perfect way during that performance. Perhaps it was just the thing to launch her into the finale and – who knows – possibly country superstardom!
Kree even has a leg up on Carrie, as the season four winner emerged from her win a timid singer who had only been on a plane when she auditioned for American Idol! Kree already has the backing of several established artists in the Nashville area, and has even promised Idol alum and DWTS frontrunner Kellie Pickler that they would get matching tattoos if they both win.
After Carrie returned to the AmericanIdol stage to sing her new single, “See You Again,” Kree gave us her own rendition only a week later, and she certainly gave the former Idol winner a run for her money.
When it comes down to it, though, Carrie has had more crossover appeal while Kree has that whole bluesy/country thing down, so we think there’s plenty of room for the both of those gorgeous girls in the music industry.
