We admit it. We shed more than a few tears during The Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 22, “The Walking Dead.” Nearly every ghost we wanted to see showed up. (Where were you, Aunt Jenna?)

Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen), Alaric (Matt Davis), Kol (Nathaniel Buzolic), Lexi (Arielle Kebbel), and Grams (Jasmine Guy) all put in an appearance. As we watched them reunite with their loved ones, we got choked up. ButBonnie (Kat Graham) barely got a moment with her ex before she decided to put the veil back up.

Actually, though, she was set on bringing Jeremy back from the dead — for good. As her Grams watched, and tried to dissuade her, the witch performed an Expression spell. It was too much for her. “I’m sorry,” her grandmother told her later, showing a ghostly Bonnie her own body. “I’m dead?” asked the puzzled witch.

We don’t know! Silas is neutralized, right? He said he could make Bonnie see whatever he wants. Is this some sort of trick of his? Is Bonnie really dead? In photos for next week’s episode, it looks like she — or her spirit — is enjoying graduation in the Season 4 finale.

What do you think is going on?
