American Idol

Angie Miller’s American Idol Performances on 5/8/2013! (VIDEOS)

Angie Miller is the odds-on favorite to win it all this season on American Idol, and we can easily see her with confetti in her gorgeous locks on that fateful finale night. She has wowed us since the moment she performed that original song, “You Set Me Free,” at the piano during Hollywood Week. If the judges had their way, this Beverly, Massachusetts, native would always perform at the piano. Angela Miller has shown us her versatility, though, with non-piano featuring performances like Beyonce’s “Halo.”

Interestingly enough, despite being the frontrunner for quite some time, the American Idol judges were a bit hard on Angie Miller last week. The feedback they gave her after her rendition of “Someone To Watch Over Me” was a bit strange. Nicki Minaj told her that she reminds her of a Disney princess, and that she could totally see her on Broadway which, if you’ve been watching American Idol for a while, is sort of an insult. Randy Jackson didn’t love the arrangement but loved her vocal.

The judges were particularly harsh after her performance of Rihanna’s “Diamonds,” with Nicki simply saying, “bland, it was lackluster” and Randy admitting, “I didn’t love it.” Keith Urban didn’t like the stripped down version of the song, while Mariah Carey said Angie was playing to the camera too much. In seasons past, the judges have been harsh on the frontrunner, so they may be trying to light a fire under the talented vocalist.

On American Idol tonight, Angie Miller tackled a trio of difficult songs chosen for her by Jimmy Iovine, the American Idol judges and the show’s producers. Watch her Top 3 American Idol performances below and let us know if she’s earned your vote to make the Season 12 finale!
