Grey's Anatomy

Is Jo Alex’s “Person” on Grey’s Anatomy? You Tell Us!

We've watched Grey's Anatomy for long enough to know that Alex (Justin Chambers) is very unlucky in love — perhaps because he's not the easiest guy to get along with in the first place. Season 9 has made a strong case that he may have finally found his person in Jo (Camilla Luddington).

The pair share similar histories, similar difficulties opening up, and even a similar sense of humor. The friendship they developed over the course of the season was strong, and real, so it came as no surprise that Alex eventually realized he had feelings for Jo.

Season 9, Episode 23: "Readiness Is All" put a surprising wrench in this developing relationship, though, when Alex discovered that Jo had beaten her douche-y ex, Jason, half to death. She's crazy, he realized. But then Meredith reminded him that everyone crazy. Is Jo's crazy a perfect fit for Alex's?

Maybe. At the end of the episode he confronted her, and then confessed that he would have killed Jason for hitting her if she hadn't done it first. Why would he do that for her, she wondered? "Shut up," was his response. Why wouldn't he? Which is about as Alex a confession of love as you can get.

Clearly, they have a bond. But is she really the right woman for him? Vote in our reaction buttons, and sound off in the comments below.

Catch the Grey’s Anatomy Season 9 finale on Thursday, May 16, 2013, at 9 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
