Transgender Beauty Pageant Contestant Gets Own Reality TV Show

Remember Jenna Talackova?

She was in the headlines last year for her battle with Donald Trump and Miss Universe Canada — she was dumped from the pageant when they found out she was transgender. She was reinstated and named "Miss Congeniality." Now the 24-year-old is getting her own reality TV show, to air on E! Canada in early September.

Eight 30-minute episodes of what's tentatively being called Brave New Girl will be filmed this summer, following 6'1" Jenna as she moves from Vancouver to Toronto to pursue a modeling career.

“I believe everything happens for a reason,” Jenna told The Globe and Mail. “A lot of my friends and people who meet me [have thought] I should have a show because I’m so funny. I think if there’s one thing I’m good at it’s definitely being funny. I just hope people fall in love with my comedy and, like, my personality and really enjoy the show.”

It's not clear if U.S. viewers will be able to watch the E! Canada show on TV, but perhaps we can see it online. Would you watch?
