Will Glee End After Season 6? FOX Chief Kevin Reilly Says…
The announcement that FOX had renewed Glee for two more seasons is enough to make us all not stop believin'. But we're all wondering when the show is gonna take a bow, and if this is the network's way of giving the show an endgame.
During a conference call with reporters this morning, May 13, FOX entertainment chairman Kevin Reilly gave us an answer.
"Well, I don't know if we are marching towards an end," he said. "I would say that we have two more seasons, and that — speaking to the confidence of the show and how important it is to us and our belief in Ryan — we're gonna take it two seasons at a time. But there will be progression in the story. I think that will be the fun thing for the fans. It's not gonna be a static two seasons."
Kevin also reflected on Season 4 and its appeal to hardcore Gleeks.
"You know, when the show was really at its height, there were crossover fans; and then we got down to the core fans this season," he explained. "And the show's been very steady all year and a really solid performer. The core fans were really, really happy with what went there on this year, creatively. So we want to lock those in and keep them engaged with new things. New York was a really great addition to the show this year. So there's gonna be graduations, [we're] gonna be taking New York to the next step on that adventure, and then [there will be] some interesting little mini-arcs like we've done with some of our guest actors."
