3 Reasons The Voice 2013’s Vedo Deserved to Be in the Top 10
We haven’t even made it to the finals on The Voice 2013 and already there have been plenty of heartbreaking eliminations. On May 14, R&B triple threat, Vedo, was axed from Team Usher and sent home after weeks of stellar performances.
In his blind audition, Vedo revealed that his mother had been diagnosed with Stage IV cancer before the auditions. Sadly she passed away before the singer made it to the battle rounds, but the impact of this loss stayed with him throughout the competition.
Obviously his tragic story has touched thousands of hearts across the country, but we were upset that Vedo was voted off because of his talent. Here are our Top 3 reasons the singer should have moved on:
1) He’s a Triple Threat
Boyfriend can dance, sing, and look fly at the drop of a hat. Clearly he’s in shape because his killer dance moves never affect his vocals. Seriously, he gives Usher a run for his money on a regular basis!
2) He’s Already Produced Successful Original Work
So maybe he never reached No. 1 on the iTunes charts, but long before The Voice, Vedo came out with a professionally produced single, “Traffic Jam.” Umm, why isn’t this on the radio? The lyrics are catchy, the choreographed dance moves make us want jump out of our seats, and the fast cars and women fit in with music videos from the best in the business.
3) His Performances Were Always Spot-On
Vedo made The Voice look easy. From his moving tribute to his mother in the knockout rounds to his epic battle between Jessica Childress on Bruno Mars’s “Locked Out of Heaven,” the singer showed the purity of his sound and the vast range of his talent. Unfortunately, his weakest performance was his last (Michael Jackson’s “Rock With You”), but given the right song (like his teammate Michelle Chamuel), Vedo could have made it to the finals!
