Chicago Man Arrested for Trespassing Near Taylor Swift’s Rhode Island Mansion

Looks like Taylor Swift’s Rhode Island beach house has maybe already attracted some trespassers!

E! reports that just a month after picking out her beach mansion, a trespasser has been arrested on the private road leading up to her latest real estate acquisition.

Authorities spotted the man emerging from the water around 2:15 a.m. today, after going for a swim in the freezing water! While police cannot confirm that he was, in fact, trying to meet Taylor, his proximity to her mansion while trespassing on a private road seems troubling.

The man taken into police custody is 22-year-old Lucas H. Vorsteveld from Chicago, who initially told police that he was just out for a walk.

According to the Westerly Police Department, Lucas was arrested “without incident,” and a rep from the department told TMZ that they have a
“zero tolerance policy for trespassers.”

Lucas is currently out of police custody, but he has a summons to appear in court on May 24. Hope he has a friend to stay with on the East Coast, or he’s up for an even longer swim from Chicago!

It must be so stressful having fans rush your idyll summer getaway. We hope this works out for Taylor! At the very least, it looks like the local police (and her security staff!) are looking out for her.
