Jenelle Evans Likely to Face Trial For Felony Heroin Possession — Exclusive
We're still reeling from the fact that Teen Mom 2's Jenelle Evans and her husband, Courtland Rogers, were arrested for heroin possession and possession of drug paraphernalia (as well as a slew of other charges) on April 23, and Jenelley had her first of many court dates on Tuesday, May 14.
So, was Jenelle convicted? Not so fast, friends!
"Her court date has been continued by the State of N.C. until July 1, 2013," Jenelle's lawyer, Dustin Sullivan, tells Wetpaint Entertainment. "I anticipate that she will be indicted before that court date. No new information was given but that is typical in felony cases still in district court for us."
If Jenelle gets indicted, she'll likely stand trial in a Superior Court — but fear not. Dustin previously told Wetpaint Entertainment that "the truth will come out over time," indicating that Courtland could likely be found guilty.
"Courtland's case was also today and was continued," Dustin tells Wetpaint, adding that he has his own legal representation.
There's no way to know if the court will rule in Jenelle's favor, but this gal has been a model citizen since her arrest (Dustin says she was "very professional while in court"), while Courtland Rogers has been shacked up in jail with a $50,000 bond. In fact, The Daily Mail reports that Courtland was just charged with a probation violation and will remain in custody for 45 days due to reckless driving!
